Among, the most concerning aspects, of the numerous challenges, we face, both, domestically, and internationally, is, apparently, there are so many Americans, who merely follow, someone, based on empty promises, rhetoric and vitriol, personality and/ or celebrity, or an unwillingness, to thoroughly examine positions and possibilities, and/ or proceeding, in an apathetic manner! Most observers believe, the present period, is, perhaps, one of the most challenging, especially, in recent memory, because, rather than our leaders, articulating a cooperative message, based on unification, and the common good, based on emphasizing, a polarizing message, focused on serving their core supporters, and/ or personal/ political agenda, and/ or self - interest! Now, perhaps more than ever, we need public leaders, worthy of our TRUST. With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly, consider, identify, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means, and represents, and why, it matters.
1. Timely: Donald Trump, successfully, ran a campaign for President, in 2016, based on a central message, Make America Great Again. If we look at that slogan, we should recognize, it represents, a philosophy, stating, this nation, is no longer great, and needs, to go, back to the past! Only when our public officials, seek timely, well - considered solutions, will this nation benefit, and become, the best, it might possibly be!
2. Relevant; responsive; realistic: What good is achieved, until/ unless, the leadership focuses on relevant needs, and attempts to be responsive to realistic priorities, rather than any personal/ political agenda? We need, to come together, for the common good, and remain true, to the freedoms, liberties, rights, and Constitutional requirements, represented by the Constitution, and Bill of Rights, as well as evolving needs, goals, and priorities, for all, not only when we support, or benefit, from any specific one!
3. Useful; usable: Rhetoric, vitriol, empty promises, misstatements, lies, distortions, etc, are never useful, in making the nation, serve all the people! We have witnessed, President Trump, reportedly, average about 6 lies, per day, and how is that usable, or worthwhile?
4. Service; system; sustainable solutions: Our leaders must prioritize service, to nation, and all the citizens, not just their supporters, or those who agree with them! They can't, merely, proceed, without effective planning, but rather, ones, with a well - considered, system, to seek, sustainable solutions, for the common good!
5. Truthful; tells: Demand officials, proceed, in a truthful way, and tell, how they will transform challenges, towards a relevant, sustainable solution!
Wouldn't it be better, if we had public officials, worthy of our TRUST? Wake up, America, and demand better representation, if you hope, to have a nation, to be proud of!

Our American Challenge: Too Many Promises, Too Few SOLUTIONS!
Americans, often, complain about the quality, or commitment, of their public officials, but, rarely, examine and/ or consider, whether they are simply, listening to the empty promises, and rhetoric, rather than the quality of their visions, and solutions! Unfortunately, it is because of, either the apathy of the electorate, or their unwillingness to delve deeply, and ask meaningful questions, before they vote, and elect someone, who might be inappropriate, or not be, the type of leader, they think, they are electing, many become disillusioned by the system, rather than accepting, it is the responsibility of each voter, to pay far more attention, during the campaign - process. Wouldn't we all be, better served, if our public officials, offered fewer promises, and used less rhetoric, and rather, offered, meaningful, well - considered, viable SOLUTIONS? With that in mind, this article will briefly consider, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, why this matters.
1. Service: Closely examine, who is being served, by a particular candidate! Quality leaders emphasis meaningful service, to the citizens, they represent, and the nation, they serve!
2. Options: Does this person, proceed, with a willingness, to consider, and examine, all viable options and alternatives, rather than any personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self - interest?
3. Listen; learn; leadership: Rather than believing, one has all the answers, and proceeds, unwilling to listen effectively, and consistently, learn from every conversation and experience, he does not exhibit the level of quality, meaningful, relevant, sustainable leadership, our nation needs, and deserves!
4. Useful; usable; unique: Avoid electing individuals, who emphasize rhetoric, over useful ideas, and viable solutions. We need to be served by people, with usable ways, where we might become better! Always consider, what about a particular candidate, might be somewhat unique, and make that person a better leader.
5. Timely; trend - setter: Blaming and complaining about the past, rather than introducing relevant, timely ideas and solutions, serves very little purpose, to the nation, or citizens! Rather, we need people, who proceed, to become trend - setters, and help the nation, to evolve, in the best, most relevant, sustainable manner.
6. Ideas; integrity; imagination: Does the potential leader, have the imagination, combined with absolute integrity, to proceed, with valuable, worthwhile ideas, which benefit, and serve the common good?
7. Opportunities: We need to elect candidates, who are ready, willing and able, to pursue the finest, most relevant, opportunities, to serve, America's best interests!
8. Needs: Whose needs, does that potential leader, represent? The electorate must consider the character, and intentions, of someone, before buying - into, their rhetoric, and promises!
9. System; sustainable solutions: Fully consider, whether someone has the capabilities of creating and developing, the best system, to achieve worthwhile objectives! The goal must be to perceive and conceive of, create, develop, and implement, the most relevant, sustainable solutions!
We are never served, when we elect, leaders, with, far, too many promises, and too few, viable SOLUTIONS! America will only become, the best, it can possibly be, when/ if, the electorate assumes, far more responsibility, and focus!

Why Do Core Supporters Look Away? : 5 Possibilities
Have you ever wondered, why so many people, continue to support, and trust, any particular, public official, even when he clearly demonstrates, the rhetoric, and promises, he made, as a candidate, were merely, empty, and focused on getting elected, rather than serving the common good, etc? Is it because of the significant degree of voter apathy, where less than half, of eligible voters, actually, take advantage of this important right, and assume the responsibility, or, because, few are willing to pay, keen attention, to what's going on? How does, the way, individuals receive their news, factor, into, their perceptions, and what, they believe, to be, the truth? With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly examine, consider, review, and discuss, 5 possibilities, why, so many, core supporters, seem to look away, rather than focus on what's actually, going on.
1. Celebrity: If voters would pay more attention, to who, might be the best qualified, rather than personalities, and/ or, celebrity status, those assuming positions of significance, would, probably be, better equipped, to make the most important decisions, etc. When Americans elected Donald Trump, to the highest office in the land, in 2016, no doubt, many did so, because of their perceptions, and his perceived, celebrity!
2. Agree with an agenda: While we might hope, more would seek leadership, which emphasized the common good, and respect all the rights, liberties, and freedoms, this nation has stood for, the reality, is, many cast their votes, based on their own biases and prejudices, and whether they believe, a specific candidate, shares these, somewhat, tainted views!
3. Scape - goats: Many prefer to blame others, and complain, rather than assume any personal responsibility, and provide ideas, and viable solutions, to make changes, for the better! President Trump appears, to be, particularly adept, at making others, scape - goats, as a political, rhetorical, way, to inspire his core supporters!
4. Priorities and perceptions: While some may attempt to see, what happens, and events, objectively, the reality is, we all have personal perceptions, which impact our ability, to do so! Because many feel, so strongly, about certain of their personal priorities, they continue to overlook, other flaws, lies, etc, made by political leaders, even if they, fail to serve the common good, and, in some instances, even their actual best interests!
5. Believe the excuses/ explanations: Many are blinded by what they wish, might be, so, they, continue to believe the excuses, and explanations, even when the evidence, clearly, demonstrates, a particular leader, is lying, or only considering his self - interest!
Voter apathy, and lack of patience, to objectively consider, all the events, and eventualities, are the enemy of quality, representative government! We need to elect leaders, who focus on the common good, and respecting all the rights and freedoms, rather than selectively doing so!

Why America Won't Be Great, Unless We Protect Our Freedoms?: 5 Concerns
There is a significant difference, between articulating a message, or using a slogan, Make America Great Again, and, actually, maintaining, preserving, and protecting, what actually makes us great, and unique, in the world. For generations, the rest of the world, looked to the United States, for its leadership, in areas such as human rights, and protecting essential freedoms and liberties, yet, in 2016, Donald Trump, effectively convinced, enough Americans, he was uniquely, qualified, to make America great, again. One of the issues, with this, is it assumes, we no longer are great, rather than focusing on what, truly, does so! With that in mind, this article will attempt to review, consider, and briefly discuss, why, we must protect all our freedoms, and liberties, considered, and updated, based on the U.S. Constitution, focusing on 5 important concerns.
1. Speech: President Trump appears, to strike - out, against anyone, who disagrees, and/ or opposes, his approach, etc! Signaling his upset at this, he creates a distraction, to the freedom of speech, and ability to state one's opinion, whether you agree, or not! A wise man once said, I will oppose your view, with all my strength, but fight for your right, to express it!
2. Press: Throughout history, we have witnessed public leaders, who blame the press, and attempt to pit, the public against them! Mr. Trump has done, this, as well, when he consistently, expresses and articulates a message, referring to their reporting, as Fake News, whenever it opposes, or even, points out differences, etc, and it is especially, concerning, when he refers to the press, as the Enemy of the People! Historically, the press has protected the public against poor behavior, etc!
3. Voting rights: Although, far too many Americans, do not take advantage of the right to vote, in free elections, it's essential, we fight for these rights. When things, such as demanding Voter ID's, which generally discriminate against the poorest and neediest, we risk, continuing to be governed, for all the people!
4. Common good: This nation was created, based on focusing on the common good, rather than any particular personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self - interest! This President has, consistently, articulated messages, which seem to indicate, he is only desiring to represent his core supporters and followers, rather than all the people! How can this, possibly, be good for Americans, in - general!
5. We were all immigrants: With the exception of Native Americans, all Americans, come from heritages, which were immigrants! Today's anti - immigrant rhetoric, is counter, to the principles, which have made America great!
We must, all, do all we can, to protect our American way, of life, and all the freedoms, and liberties, which make us great! Wake up, America, and demand, the best, we can possibly, be!

Examine Elected Officials ACTIONS - Not Promises/ Rhetoric
All too often, voters have elected politicians, based on their promises, and rhetoric, and other, rather meaningless (in the bigger - picture) issues, rather than focusing on whether, they demonstrate a willingness, to create a well - considered, action plan, and strategy, to get things done, which might make a relevant, sustainable difference, for the better! It's not about what someone says, which should make a difference, but, rather, what he seeks to achieve, his motivations (is it about the politician's personal/ political agenda, and/ or self - interest), and whether he has the experience, knowledge, judgment, and other necessities, to lead effectively. We must look at the overall quality and relevance of one's ACTIONS, rather than promises, and rhetoric! With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly examine, consider, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, some of the elements and necessities of leading, for all the people.
1. Attention; attitude; aptitude; articulate: Shouldn't a public official's focus, and attention, be on serving all the people? In November, 2016, the United States elected Donald Trump, to become the 45th President of this nation. Does his attitude, which seems to be focused, on his core supporters, and excluding many others, seem to be, in the best interests of the people? Unlike his predecessors, Mr. Trump, had no previous public service, and, many of his backers, seemed to pay little attention, on whether he had the aptitude, judgment, experience, and expertise, to proceed, wisely, and in a relevant, sustainable way. This President, certainly articulates his message (although, often in a conflicting way), but is that message, focused on the common good?
2. Creative; cooperative; character: Rather than seeking to Make America Great Again, wouldn't we all, be better served, if there was creative leadership, focused on the best way to make America, maintain its focus and emphasis, into the future? We need leaders, who focus on the cooperative approach, rather than a polarizing one! We should expect elected officials, to exhibit the quality character, to focus on what's best, for those he serves, rather than any personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self - interest!
3. Timely: Rather than fixating on the past, because everything looks better, in black - and - white, we should elect individuals, willing to fully consider options and alternatives, and, consistently, produce timely action!
4. Intentions; imagination; integrity; ideas; ideology: When voting, consider a candidate's intentions, and whether he possesses, both a well - developed, relevant imagination, as well as absolute integrity, based on the ideology, framed by our Constitution, of this nation!
5. Open - minded; options; opportunities: Avoid electing people, with the, My way or the highway, mindsets, and are ready, willing and able, to proceed, with an open - mind, and a willingness to consider the options and alternatives, and be prepared to take advantage of the finest opportunities!
6. Needs: Whose needs, does the particular leader, prioritize - his own, or those he serves and represents? Opt for someone, who puts the needs of the nation, ahead of any personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self - interest!
7. Service; system; sustainable solutions: The priority of anyone elected, should be, quality service, to both, his constituents (all of them), as well as his nation! He must perceive and conceive of, create, develop, and implement, the best system, to achieve, relevant, sustainable solutions!
Wake up. America, and assume your personal responsibility, for voting, and doing so, wisely! Don't blame others, but proceed, with judgment, rather than apathy!
