Why Public Leaders Must Earn Our RESPECT?

Far too often, we observe individuals, who are public officials, who appear, to believe, they deserve respect and admiration, solely because of the position, they hold. However, we live in a democracy and republic, not a totalitarian nation, and, thus, our elected officials, should, and must, earn our RESPECT, not by their empty promises, rhetoric, vitriol, etc, but, rather by their actions, and intentions (both actual, and perceived). With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly examine, why this matters, and what it means, using the mnemonic approach.

1. Relevant; responsive; responsible; realistic: We seem to be living in a somewhat, surreal time, when our President, seems to believe, he is, either above the law, or doesn't need to serve and represent all the people! Many, including me, refer to this, as "Trump World," because it often, seems, Donald Trump, pays little heed, to telling the truth, if it doesn't support his personal/ political agenda, and/ or self - interest. Calling the media, Fake News, and the Enemy of the People, appears to be counter, to the basic, American principle, of Freedom of the Press. His Make America Great Again, seems to focus on the past, rather than pursuing, relevant, responsive, responsible, realistic, and/ or sustainable solutions, and he focuses, on his core supporters, rather than the common good!

2. Empathy; emphasis: Even his greatest supporters, would probably not proclaim, President Trump, possesses, or proceeds with genuine empathy! To earn the respect of most, one should focus on the common good, and needs, rather than placing his emphasis, solely on the perceptions of his core!

3. System; service; sustainable solutions: How can anyone earn respect, unless he clearly articulates, a well - considered, system, and focuses on service, to nation, and all its citizens? There can be no place, for band - aid approaches, but, we need, leaders who consider, and introduce, the finest, sustainable solutions!

4. Priorities; planning: Closely examine, a leader's priorities, and focus! Does he, merely use empty rhetoric, and make promises, or does he commit to the utmost level, of quality planning?

5. Efforts; energize: How one focuses his efforts, goes a long way, towards whether it energizes the nation, in a positive manner?

6. Character; creative: We need public leaders, who exhibit the finest character, focused on service, and the public good! Rather than merely looking at the same - old, same - old, we need individuals, who proceed, in a creative, fully considered, focused way!

7. Timely: There is no place for procrastination, but a public official, must seek to provide, well - considered, timely ideas, strategies, and action plans!

Don't go back, to the past, but demand, officials, focus on relevant, sustainable ideas, and solutions! Wake up, America, and demand, those seeking office, go beyond empty promises, but seek quality solutions!

Why We Need Public Leaders, Worthy Of Our TRUST?

Among, the most concerning aspects, of the numerous challenges, we face, both, domestically, and internationally, is, apparently, there are so many Americans, who merely follow, someone, based on empty promises, rhetoric and vitriol, personality and/ or celebrity, or an unwillingness, to thoroughly examine positions and possibilities, and/ or proceeding, in an apathetic manner! Most observers believe, the present period, is, perhaps, one of the most challenging, especially, in recent memory, because, rather than our leaders, articulating a cooperative message, based on unification, and the common good, based on emphasizing, a polarizing message, focused on serving their core supporters, and/ or personal/ political agenda, and/ or self - interest! Now, perhaps more than ever, we need public leaders, worthy of our TRUST. With that in mind, this article will attempt to briefly, consider, identify, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means, and represents, and why, it matters.

1. Timely: Donald Trump, successfully, ran a campaign for President, in 2016, based on a central message, Make America Great Again. If we look at that slogan, we should recognize, it represents, a philosophy, stating, this nation, is no longer great, and needs, to go, back to the past! Only when our public officials, seek timely, well - considered solutions, will this nation benefit, and become, the best, it might possibly be!

2. Relevant; responsive; realistic: What good is achieved, until/ unless, the leadership focuses on relevant needs, and attempts to be responsive to realistic priorities, rather than any personal/ political agenda? We need, to come together, for the common good, and remain true, to the freedoms, liberties, rights, and Constitutional requirements, represented by the Constitution, and Bill of Rights, as well as evolving needs, goals, and priorities, for all, not only when we support, or benefit, from any specific one!

3. Useful; usable: Rhetoric, vitriol, empty promises, misstatements, lies, distortions, etc, are never useful, in making the nation, serve all the people! We have witnessed, President Trump, reportedly, average about 6 lies, per day, and how is that usable, or worthwhile?

4. Service; system; sustainable solutions: Our leaders must prioritize service, to nation, and all the citizens, not just their supporters, or those who agree with them! They can't, merely, proceed, without effective planning, but rather, ones, with a well - considered, system, to seek, sustainable solutions, for the common good!

5. Truthful; tells: Demand officials, proceed, in a truthful way, and tell, how they will transform challenges, towards a relevant, sustainable solution!

Wouldn't it be better, if we had public officials, worthy of our TRUST? Wake up, America, and demand better representation, if you hope, to have a nation, to be proud of!

Our American Challenge: Too Many Promises, Too Few SOLUTIONS!

Americans, often, complain about the quality, or commitment, of their public officials, but, rarely, examine and/ or consider, whether they are simply, listening to the empty promises, and rhetoric, rather than the quality of their visions, and solutions! Unfortunately, it is because of, either the apathy of the electorate, or their unwillingness to delve deeply, and ask meaningful questions, before they vote, and elect someone, who might be inappropriate, or not be, the type of leader, they think, they are electing, many become disillusioned by the system, rather than accepting, it is the responsibility of each voter, to pay far more attention, during the campaign - process. Wouldn't we all be, better served, if our public officials, offered fewer promises, and used less rhetoric, and rather, offered, meaningful, well - considered, viable SOLUTIONS? With that in mind, this article will briefly consider, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, why this matters.

1. Service: Closely examine, who is being served, by a particular candidate! Quality leaders emphasis meaningful service, to the citizens, they represent, and the nation, they serve!

2. Options: Does this person, proceed, with a willingness, to consider, and examine, all viable options and alternatives, rather than any personal/ political agenda, and/ or, self - interest?

3. Listen; learn; leadership: Rather than believing, one has all the answers, and proceeds, unwilling to listen effectively, and consistently, learn from every conversation and experience, he does not exhibit the level of quality, meaningful, relevant, sustainable leadership, our nation needs, and deserves!

4. Useful; usable; unique: Avoid electing individuals, who emphasize rhetoric, over useful ideas, and viable solutions. We need to be served by people, with usable ways, where we might become better! Always consider, what about a particular candidate, might be somewhat unique, and make that person a better leader.

5. Timely; trend - setter: Blaming and complaining about the past, rather than introducing relevant, timely ideas and solutions, serves very little purpose, to the nation, or citizens! Rather, we need people, who proceed, to become trend - setters, and help the nation, to evolve, in the best, most relevant, sustainable manner.

6. Ideas; integrity; imagination: Does the potential leader, have the imagination, combined with absolute integrity, to proceed, with valuable, worthwhile ideas, which benefit, and serve the common good?

7. Opportunities: We need to elect candidates, who are ready, willing and able, to pursue the finest, most relevant, opportunities, to serve, America's best interests!

8. Needs: Whose needs, does that potential leader, represent? The electorate must consider the character, and intentions, of someone, before buying - into, their rhetoric, and promises!

9. System; sustainable solutions: Fully consider, whether someone has the capabilities of creating and developing, the best system, to achieve worthwhile objectives! The goal must be to perceive and conceive of, create, develop, and implement, the most relevant, sustainable solutions!

We are never served, when we elect, leaders, with, far, too many promises, and too few, viable SOLUTIONS! America will only become, the best, it can possibly be, when/ if, the electorate assumes, far more responsibility, and focus!
